When should I use this product?

This product is designed to be used during training or racing to fuel and provide energy to your body. We recommend one serve (2 scoops in a drink bottle) the day before a long session or a race and then sip frequently during the event or session. Fuel X/Fuel X Pro should also be used afterwards to replenish.

What is the texture like?

The texture of Fuel X & Fuel X PRO is liquid and drinkable, just like a sports drink!

How many gels do I need?

We recommend 1 prior and 1 gel every 30-40 minutes of exercise. Each Gel contains 120 calories and 29.3g carbohydrates.

Can I use this with with Fuel X endurance fuel?

Yes! You add in Gel X Pro into your nutrition when you require extra energy and use both products at the same time. Remember that the Fuel X endurance fuel will keep you well hydrated and replenished while the Gel X Pro provides extra calories when needed.

I have had other fixx products that were fantastic. This gel flavour in particular failed me in a race today - I opened it up and the inside was all crystallised - the other flavours I was using were fine. I’m guessing it has something to do with the ‘sorbet’, but I had to ditch it mid race and use another. Thankfully the marathon was offering fixx gels so I grabbed a raspberry one off the aid station to replace it.

We have resolved the crystalisation issue with our gels which occurred in one or two earlier batches after we launched them. As we prefer not use any preservatives in our products the gels are heat treated. This heat treating process has since been changed resulting no crystalisation. I noticed there weren’t many reviews on this particular product and thought my experience might assist new runners… I completed a 13.5K run on the weekend (11/1/25) as part of my training for my first marathon in the upcoming GC marathon in July (2025). I started running in late-2018 and was training hard and got to running several 21K runs and one 25K run before I injured my plantar fascia and stopped me from running until recently. Up until now, I had never tried or used gels and had never used a running vest to keep hydrated. I’ve learnt a lot since then and now training the right way. I must say that using the gel actually saved me from “bonking out”. Having never had one before, I found it different but palatable and helpful. I also used the Fixx Pro fluid in two small drink bottles in my running vest and I am now completely convinced Fixx is the way to go for long run hydration. I took the gel at the 7K mark (probably could’ve taken it at the 6K point) and washed it down with the Fixx Pro fluid. It tastes better…. I didn’t have any nasty “after effects” and it did the job. Overall, new runners take note and try it. You will appreciate it.

Gels are nice and not overly sticky and easy to take..not sure if lemon sorbet is my favourite thou..but is nice to break up from the raspberry ones
